The school is on fire!!

Have a look at our students in 4th D rehearsing a play. They will perform a comedy called The School is on Fire on the next 6th of June. Can't wait to see it!

Theatre in 4th of ESO

It's been a hard school year! We are still working a lot on the new plays we are going to perform on the 11th June in La Diadema venue.

The students in 4th A are going to perform a play called Night at the library. If you want to meet Freddy Mercury, Harry Potter, Batman or even The Joker, you can't miss it!

I Sketch Contest in Ins Can Margarit

If you love theatre, you want to spend a good time with your friends and you want to win a prize... take part of the I Sketch Contest in our school! Read the rules of the contest here:

Bases del  “I concurs de sketchos en anglès”

1. Haureu d’enregistrar i editar un vídeo curt en anglès.
2. Podeu utilitzar els sketchos que us han lliurat els professors d’anglès, o buscar-ne de nous i crear-ne de propis.
3. La durada dels sketchos haurà de ser de 2 a 5 minuts.
4. Com a mínim hauran d’aparèixer 2 persones i com a màxim 10.
5. Podeu fer les agrupacions que considereu oportunes, però sempre haureu de ser del mateix curs. És a dir, podeu barrejar-vos amb altres classes.
6. La data de lliurament és el 5 d’abril de 2019. Envieu o compartiu els vostres sketchos a sarainscanmargarit@gmail.com.
7. Els guanyadors hauran de representar l’sketch el dia de St Jordi durant la cerimònia.
8. El premi serà lliurat el dia 23 d’abril durant la cerimònia dels Jocs Florals.

A new school year

Hello everybody!

Here we are again after the summer break... I am about to meet the new students in 4th of ESO... I would like to share with you an ice-breaker activity that I learned in Pilgrims, University of Kent, some years ago. I attended a course called Drama Techniques for Creative Teaching, which I really recommend to all English teachers.

Clapping

In a circle, the teacher starts clapping to the person on the right just once. There must be always eye contact in this kind of games. Then, this student on the right claps to the teacher back, letting him/her know that she/he has received the clap, and then to the person on his/her right and so on. Once the whole group has done it, the teacher starts doing the same, but this time with no order (no necessarily the person on your right). Then the teacher must increase the rhythm to play faster.

With a group that you don’t know, or they don’t know each other, you can add your name when you clap de first time. Then, your partner says your name back while clapping back to you, and then says her name to another person clapping as well. This person says the person’s name and her/his own name looking at someone else, and so on.

Eye contact is very important. If a student doesn’t do it, you can invite him/ her to step out of the group and watch out how the activity works.
